DESTINATION

A city of art

& history

Nestled in the heart of Champagne, Châlons-en-Champagne welcomes you with its exceptional heritage, picturesque canals, and the Champagne lifestyle. An ideal setting for our gathering.

Historical Heritage

Châlons-en-Champagne and its surrounding area boast two UNESCO World Heritage sites as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela: the Church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux and the Basilica of Notre-Dame de l’Epine. A few kilometers away, the “Champagne hillsides, houses and cellars” are among the 45 sites listed by UNESCO. The list recognizes cultural and natural sites of “outstanding universal value.”

Saint-Jacques de Compostelle

Throughout the Middle Ages, Santiago de Compostela was the most important destination for pilgrims from all over Europe. To reach Spain, they had to cross France and thus encountered many historical monuments along the way. In 1998, two buildings in Châlons and its surrounding area were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as part of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela: the Church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux and the Basilica of Notre-Dame de l’Epine, a village located 8 km from Châlons-en-Champagne.

The Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux

At the time, the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux was a gathering point for Northern and Eastern Europeans setting off on the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela. Saint James is associated with the Christian reconquest of Spain. Indeed, he is said to have miraculously appeared in 844 at the Battle of Clavijo, which is believed to have secured victory over the Saracens. This miracle is commemorated in a stained-glass window in the Church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux, depicting the moment when Saint James leads the troops who rout the fleeing enemy army to the right (the Battle of Saint James stained-glass window in the north aisle). The Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame-en-Vaux boasts admirable 16th-century stained-glass windows as well as a carillon of 56 bells, one of the largest in Europe.

The GoldWing Experience

Friday will also be an open day for the general public. Motorcycles with exceptional looks, sometimes spectacular or more unusual, will be on display.

Their owners, our passionate Wingers, will be there to chat with visitors and explain the modifications, and stories that make each machine unique.

On Friday morning, some regional clubs will offer a GoldWing ride to discover the landscapes around Châlons-en-Champagne, including vineyards, the Champagne countryside, and architectural heritage.

However, it is essential to be back for lunch and present at the Capitole site on Friday afternoon.

Lunch, entertainment & dinner on site

Throughout Friday, the Capitole site will be buzzing with activity.

From the morning onwards, our partners' stands will be open continuously, and all activities will be accessible to all participants. At lunchtime, everyone can enjoy a variety of food options right on site.

The afternoon will continue with numerous activities open to all: a concours d'élégance, an exhibition of vintage Citroën DS cars, mopeds, and many other surprises for young and old alike.

Dinner & Light Parade

After dinner on site, all the GoldWing motorcycles will parade in a musical and illuminated procession through the city streets, offering spectators a unique sound and visual spectacle.

PARADE OF NATIONS

route

The Champagne

An exceptional route through the landscapes of Champagne, from Châlons-en-Champagne to an escape between villages and forests to Saint-Dizier where the whole town offers you a warm welcome.

Departure in convoy from the Exhibition Park — Before the briefing, pick up your coffee and croissant from our partners on site, then join us with your mug to follow the convoy departure instructions.

The convoy sets off with the muffled rumble of engines, after a shared coffee and a few last smiles exchanged. Little by little, the city fades in the rearview mirrors and the road opens up before us, wide and promising.

The initial straight stretches give way to gentle curves that undulate between golden fields and villages of pale stone. The air becomes purer, the horizons wider. The motorcycles glide elegantly over the asphalt, perfectly aligned, as if carried by the landscape.

Then come the more undulating sections, the natural curves that one takes smoothly, almost instinctively. The light plays on the crops and slate roofs, while the forests offer their cool shade and woody scents. At times, the road becomes more intimate, enveloped in greenery, before opening up again to broad views of the Champagne region.

Kilometer after kilometer, the diversity of the landscapes accompanies the simple and powerful pleasure of riding together. A harmony between machines, nature and shared passion, until the arrival, where the engines are switched off with that rare feeling of having experienced much more than a journey: a true road experience.

The approach to Saint-Dizier comes after this harmonious succession of villages, open countryside and deep forests — a route perfectly suited to a motorcycle ride, combining fluidity, diversity of landscapes and the pleasure of riding together.

Lunch break in

Saint-Dizier

The town of Saint-Dizier, its shops and restaurants, warmly welcome you for a friendly and delicious lunch break. Local specialties, regional Champagne products, and a festive atmosphere await you—a moment of sharing and generosity in the heart of the countryside.

GALA EVENING

A dinner prepared by a

Michelin-starred chef

To conclude this gathering in style, an exceptional gala dinner awaits you. Michelin-starred chef Jérôme Feck from the restaurant L'Angleterre in Châlons-en-Champagne has created an exceptional menu, combining local Champagne produce with haute French cuisine.

Jérôme Feck, a legacy of high standards and passion

Jérôme Feck is an artist who elevates ingredients and delights palates. A true virtuoso of flavors, he composes his dishes like musical scores, with precision, sensitivity, and character. A native of Haute-Marne, he honed his skills at the Grand Hôtel de Langres. His path, however, wasn't always predetermined: as a child, he dreamed of becoming a professional firefighter.

Understanding early on that discipline and training would be essential, he embarked on a culinary career. With his vocational diplomas (BEP and CAP) in hand, he patiently built his career in prestigious regional establishments, honing his exacting standards and culinary signature.

From 2014, his talents were showcased at La Briqueterie in Vinay, where he further refined his style. In 2016, he took on an ambitious challenge: taking over the Hôtel d'Angleterre, a Châlons institution that had once held a Michelin star but had lost it. A bold challenge that the chef and his team met in less than a year, restoring to the establishment the coveted Holy Grail of French gastronomy.

A demanding yet deeply humane chef, Jérôme Feck remains driven by a passion for passing on knowledge and sharing his expertise. Even with a busy schedule, he found the time in July 2018 to participate in the jury that selected the brew that would become “La Plume,” a testament to his commitment to local produce and traditional skills.

Menu

APPETIZER

To add some sparkle to your aperitif, stop by our partner's shop to buy your bottle of champagne, then make a detour to the bar for some savory biscuits, peanuts, and other treats to share. We'll put everything together, pop the corks, and celebrate together in a sparkling, delicious, and 100% convivial atmosphere!

ENTREE

Duck Foie Gras Terrine

Selected from Ferme des Saturnins, located in the Meuse region (55), where we source high-quality raw duck foie gras, this terrine is then prepared in our kitchens. It offers a melting texture and a subtle balance between the richness of foie gras and the delicacy of duck.
Served with lightly crusty bistro bread, it offers a generous and refined starter, bursting with authenticity.

PLAT

Ballotine de Volaille , sauce Tartufata

Conceived by Jérôme Feck, this chicken ballotine reveals tender, juicy meat, delicately rolled and then cooked with precision to preserve its delicate flavor. It is accompanied by flavorful mushrooms with woody notes and roasted baby potatoes with crispy skin and a meltingly tender center.

The whole dish is enhanced by a Tartufata sauce, with delicate truffle accents, which adds depth, elegance, and a touch of character to this generous and refined plate.

DESSERT

Baba au Marc de Champagne

To conclude this exceptional dinner, the chef offers a Baba au Marc de Champagne, delicately soaked to reveal all the finesse and aromatic warmth of this iconic regional brandy.

Soft and fragrant, the baba develops subtle and elegant notes, balanced by a touch of freshness.

A generous and refined dessert, a tribute to the Champagne terroir, which brings the meal to a festive and authentic close.
